Student Life Holmes Junior High

Today is Day Three for band lessons

Performers! Variety Show is coming sooner than you think! This year's theme is BRITISH INVASION. The British Invasion happened in the 1960s when rock and pop music from England "invaded" the U.S. along with other British culture like the first mini-skirts and haircuts inspired by the Beatles. Today the "Invasion" is still happening with imports from Britain like Adele, Harry Potter, Dr. Who, and Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes. This year we're looking for all kinds of acts including: music, magic, comedy, rappers, dance, drama, poetry, or anything else you can think of! Even if your act doesn't fit the theme, we still want to meet you and we have plenty of suggestions. Auditions will be held in early December. If you're interested in performing, contact Mrs. Talbot, Mrs. Pruisner, or Ms. Cardamone for more information.

The Holmes Wrestling Team had a great meet at Bunger Middle School last night. Great matches were had by all who wrestled. Wins came from Bailey Roybal, Anthony Huegerich and Antoine Cuhat. Pins came from Collin Seeks, Will Lynch, Logan Strassburg, AJ Bumgarder, Xander Stover, Will Coloff, and Tommy Paulsen. The wrestlers will compete again next Tuesday at Holmes. See you there!

Holmes LEAD will meet today during Tiger Time in the cafeteria. All 8th and 9th grade girls are welcome to attend and bring a friend!

The Holmes 7th grade basketball teams faced a tall order last night in playing a combined 7th/8th team from Waterloo Christian. The White team played the first four quarters of the night and had two solid scoring spurts, but they still fell 30-20. The Holmes Black team finished the evening by playing the final two quarters. Aggressive defensive play and an improved offense still wasn't enough as numerous close shots failed to go in, allowing Waterloo Christian to win, 19-2.

The Tiger Red and White teams are in action this evening at Central.
