Low Meal Balance Notifications
Parents will receive notifications via email when family meal account balance is low.
The federally assisted National School Lunch Program allows children from families that meet certain income guidelines to receive nutritionally balanced, free or reduced priced meals each school day. Reduced priced breakfasts are $0.30 and reduced price lunches are $0.40.
The Iowa Eligibility Application is distributed to all households as part of the registration process. Only one application is required per family. Eligibility for free or reduced price meals, once determined, will be in effect beginning on the date of eligibility for the current school year. Children will remain eligible for those benefits for a maximum of 30 days after the first operating day in the following school year or until a new application has been approved. To be eligible, an application must be completed each school year.
To apply for free or reduced meal benefits, simply print pages 1 and 2 of the application and complete. You will find it to be very helpful to also download and print the parent letter and application instructions before you complete the application. Incomplete applications cannot be processed so be sure to carefully follow all instructions.
