Weekly Memo

Dear Hansen families, 

It was a busy and packed week at Hansen as we all prepare to transition to virtual learning on Monday. Thank you for all you're doing to navigate the impact of this change on your family and the support you will provide your child to engage in virtual learning. Here are several announcements for the week ahead: 

Conference Reports: 

• Student conference reports for trimester one were emailed to parents today. 

• If your child(ren) need to be absent from virtual learning for any reason, please notify your child’s teacher via email or call the Hansen office at 319-553-2783.  Please continue to communicate with us regarding any COVID symptoms, testing, and exposure throughout our virtual learning days. These metrics will continue to be used in consideration of a safe return to face-to-face learning on December 3rd. 

School Meals during Virtual Learning: 

• School meals will still be accessible to families during virtual learning. Families must place their order two days in advance, using this link. Meals, which will include breakfast and lunch, can be picked up between 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at North Cedar Elementary, Holmes Junior High, or Peet Junior High.   

No School: 

• There will be NO SCHOOL on Wednesday, November 25th - Friday November 27th in observation of Thanksgiving. School will resume virtually on Monday, November 30th. 

Technology Support: 

• Your child will be bringing home their District-issued device this afternoon to be utilized for virtual learning. Please reference these documents for technology support (iPad support and Chromebook support), connecting the device to your home internet, and helpline contact information 

Hansen PTA News: 

• Hansen PTA has found a fun new way to fundraise during this time of not being able to hold a carnival.  You can help us raise money while also spreading joy during a time when happy mail is so needed!  Through our cards for a cause fundraiser, you can select from 5 different card boxes that include 30 beautiful handmade cards (50 in the holiday box) for just $30! Our school will receive 43% back for each box purchased!  Who do you know that would be interested in purchasing a box or two?  These would also make great gifts!
