Science+olympiad+team Holmes Junior High

Science Olympiad Team Places at State Competition

On April 7th Holmes Junior High grabbed both the 2nd place trophy and a 5th place finish in the Iowa Science Olympiad. The contest was held at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This was only the second time in its 18 year history that the Holmes Science Club has entered two teams in the Olympiad. Cabaret 2018

This last weekend, over 600 people came out to see the great talent showcased in the Peet JH Cabaret Variety Show. With over 120 students involved in the performance and production, this continues to be a highlight for those involved. The show included vocal features, jazz bands, vocal ensembles, magic, dancing, and a whole lot of laughs. Congratulations to all involved in putting on a great show!

Math Counts

On February 10th, eleven students from Peet went to the Regional MathCounts Competition at Hawkeye.  The Peet Team placed 4th out of over 15 schools and Cory Roth and Alexandra Somodi individually earned spots in the top 10 out of over 100 students.  In the final countdown round, the top ten students compete head to head to decide who will advance to the state competition.  Cory finished second overall and Alexandra finished 6th.  Both, Cory and Alexandra will advance to the State MathCoun [...]
