Today’s Black History Month Spotlight is on Bayard Rustin.  Rustin was born in West Chester, Pennsylvania, on March 17, 1912. He was one of the main organizers of the Civil Rights Movement. Without him, Martin Luther King Jr. would never have been able to speak out as much as he did. The only reason he did not get any more attention is that Bayard Rustin was openly gay, and he was struggling with being in two minorities at the same time- the black community and the LGBT community.
