Workshop Wizards

We have officially kicked off the year by diving into our new reading curriculum that the district has adopted this year. It is a reading workshop method where students are taught a mini-lesson based on a reading strategy or concept, given independent time to read and apply the strategies and concepts they are taught, and then share with their peers what they learned and read about. Students were given time and the opportunity to organize our classroom library. They voted and decided to organize our books by series and various topics. They worked together to sort our books into different bins and then created labels for each bin.
