Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) - During the week of April 15th, all Cedar Falls 3rd-6th grade students will take the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) tests. These tests will replace the Iowa Assessments. In addition, these will be taken digitally using our Chromebooks. Students and families can take advantage of online practice tests to help students prepare. We have been working with our students using them during school. Please help our students to be ready by ensuring they are rested, fed and come to school with a positive mental attitude. We ask that families ensure students are at school and appointments are avoided during this week. Last, we will ask students to leave home electronic devices or be prepared to turn in to staff during testing. If you have questions, please let us know!

Lincoln Elementary will be participating in the Take Charge of Your Body program April 8th-12th.  This program is a sexual abuse prevention lesson presented in elementary schools by trained staff and volunteers of the Family and Children’s Council.  The goal of Take Charge of Your Body is to teach children about good, bad, and uncomfortable touches in a developmentally appropriate manner. The lessons also focus on developing a safety plan students can use if they are in an unsafe situation (Say No, Go, and Tell an Adult).  We believe that teaching students body safety and sexual abuse prevention at school, along with parents reinforcing this message at home, is the most effective way of protecting children from sexual abuse. If you have questions about the program, please contact Jen Jacobsen at 553-2977 or program director Glenda Husome at 234-7600 x22.  If you do not want your child to participate in the program, please email ralph.bryant@cfschools.org.  Thank you!

Join us for our PALS meeting on Monday, April 8th at 7 PM in our Media Center! PALS stands for Parents And Lincoln School and is our parent organization. All families are welcome to attend our meeting! We will see you there with a friend!
