We have sold and turned in 3,051 Winterfest tickets! Wow! Our students have earned the chance to sharpen the saw with their classroom on Monday! Our next incentive (chosen by our 2nd grade students) is a Gum Day!

Wacky Winterfest! PALS is busy planning and preparing for our largest fundraiser of the year, Wacky Winterfest.  Mark your calendars for a day of fun on February 17th from 11-2pm (NOTE THE TIME CHANGE FROM PAST YEARS!)  This event can only happen with every family taking a volunteer shift to work our fun carnival games.  Use the sign up genius soon to ensure your choice of game and time!

What to look for:

Raffle tickets will be coming home with your child on February 2nd.  Lincoln families and businesses have sponsored some amazing prizes including a Cedar Falls Family Pool Pass, Beats Headphones, $100 gift cards and more.  Each ticket costs $1 and money raised is used by PALS to support our students and school.  Watch for more details in the ticket packet arriving on Friday, 2/2!

How can I help?

We need YOU!  Beginning at 9am on February 5th, we need parent volunteers to help count and sort tickets and money as they are returned.  This happens every day from 2/5 through the end of our ticket sales on 2/16!  Did you know...in previous years, we have sold between 14,000 and 26,000 raffle tickets?  Join us in the Lincoln lounge on any or all days to assist with this project.   Many hands make light work!

We are collecting Box Tops and Milk Moola during the month of February! Please send these with your students!

Afternoon Pickup - Snow has returned to Cedar Falls! We appreciate your help in keeping our students safe before and after school by not allowing them to climb on the mountains of snow created by our plows. Thank you!

Pack 179 invites all to participate in the Pinewood Derby! This opportunity is open to all students (boys and girls) in grades Kinder through 5th. If you would like to participate, please note these steps:

• Get the official kit and rules from Cubmaster Ken at 217-621-8108

• Weigh in dates: Friday, March 23rd 5:00 to 7:00 and Saturday, March 24th 11:00 to noon in the Lincoln cafeteria

• Derby Race date: Saturday, March 24th noon until (usually a couple of hours) in the Lincoln cafeteria  

5th and 6th Grade Futsal Opportunity! Would you like to have the opportunity to play Futsal in the Lincoln Gym on Fridays? Please check out this flyer! This is only on days when school is in session.  

2018-2019 Kindergarten Students: We need your help getting a list of all our 2018-2019 incoming kindergarten students. If you have a student who will be a kindergartner next year (2018-2019), please fill out this Google Form. Please feel free to share this post with family and friends who will have an incoming kindergarten student at Lincoln next school year. If you know of a student who will be a kindergartner at our new elementary, Aldrich, please have them call the business office at 319.553.2423. Thanks for being proactive and helping us getting a kindergarten list created!
