Conferences - We are looking forward to seeing you at conferences next week! We will be handing out report cards at conferences.

After School: Just a friendly reminder that when school dismisses at 3:45 we expect students to go home if they are not participating in an after school activity with a teacher. It is part of the district rules that student go home at dismissal and remain off school grounds until 4:15.

Farm To School - during conferences we will seek volunteers for Spring Farm To School servings. This amazing program is supported by PALS and shares healthy snacks with all of our students and classrooms. The dates we will serve this spring are April 7th and April 14th.

Kinder Parent Meeting: Incoming kindergarten parent meeting is on Tues, March 21st from 6:30-7:30 at Lincoln. If you have not notified the school of an incoming kindergartener, please email jessica.selleck@cfschools.org with child’s name, date of birth, parent’s name, street address, phone number, and contact email addresses. We will be sending home information via email and posting on our website to begin online registration. Families are welcome to come between 5:45 and 6:30 for assistance with online registration. Check in will begin at 6:15 so we can promptly begin at 6:30.

Yearbook Sales will end on March 31st! Make sure to get your order in; no additional copies will be available after sales close. Please head over to ybpay.lifetouch.com using yearbook ID Code: 12435617 to reserve your copy or pick up a form outside of the office during conferences. If ordered in the office please make sure checks are made payable to Lincoln Elementary!

The Cedar Valley Children's Book Festival is Saturday April 8th from 9AM-3PM at the Cedar Falls Public Library. Events at this year's festival include yoga story times, performances by the Parabola Youth Theater, a concert and book signing with Eric Litwin author of the Pete the Cat books, and writing workshops. There will also be crafts, face painting and photo ops with many children's book characters! For more information and a schedule of events visit the CF Public Library's website. A few additional opportunities for students:

Lights, Action, Magic Camp is tentatively scheduled (pending final approval) for June 12-16. 2017.  The format will be similar with NEW magic & STEM activities.  The grade range will be 3rd-12th grade (allowing for a group of younger and older campers again this year).   Students will need to bring a sack lunch M, T, W & Th this year.  Snacks will be provided and we are anticipating students will get the opportunity to eat in the dining hall on Friday.  I anticipate that registration information will be sent after spring break.

- A reading program opportunity as well as an opportunity for an inclusive book club.
