Student Life Holmes Junior HighAny 9th grade girls interested in playing basketball this season should attend an informational meeting this Wednesday at 10:30 during tiger time in the office.
There is Board Game Club today is Mrs. Hoekstra's room (rm. 15) from 3-5.
Student Council will meeting during Tiger Time tomorrow/today in the FCS sewing room. Room 22.
The echoes program is not running this week.
Any 9th grade boys interested in swimming this winter should attend an informational meeting today after school in the media center.
Students, several of you have already signed up, but please submit the google form posted in schoology by Mrs. Johnson if you are interested in attending this week's tiger time speaker session. Mr. Anderson from UNI will be here on Wednesday to discuss his expedition on Mt. Everest. If you are interested, sign up and Mrs. Johnson will request you on Wednesday.
We will not be having Math Club today. We will resume our activities after school on November 7th.
There will be a Pep bus offered for the football play-off game on Friday, November 3. Cedar Falls will play Iowa City West in Iowa City. Game starts at 7:00 pm. The bus will leave from the Auditorium entrance of Cedar Falls High School at 4:45 pm. Cost for the bus will be $6.00 and you will purchase your ticket in Iowa City for $6.00. We must have a minimum of 25 students signed up to go. This is open to 9th-12th graders. Go to the Cedar Falls High School website to sign up and then come to the main office to pay your $6.00 by Thursday, November 2 at 3:15 pm.
A Pep bus will also be offered to the State Women’s Swim meet to Marshalltown on Saturday, November 4. The bus will leave from the Auditorium entrance of CFHS at 8:00 am. Cost for the bus will be $6.00. We must have a minimum of 25 students signed up to go. Deadline for sign up and payment will be Thursday, November 2 at 3:15 pm . This is open to 9th-12th graders. Go to the Cedar Falls High School website to sign up. If you plan to go you must get your tickets in advance by going to
GoFan IGHSAU website. Stop in the main office if you need help.
It’s Girls State Volleyball Tournament time - and if you are planning on attending next week you need to listen to the following special announcement:
The first round state tournament game for the Tigers will be held on Tuesday, November 7th at Noon when the Tigers take on Urbandale. Students planning on attending need to provide a parent or guardian excuse as soon as possible.
A pep bus will be provided for interested students grades 9-12. Students are encouraged and asked to sign up on-line on the Cedar Falls High School webpage. (Click on “Athletics”) Pep Bus cost will be $6.00 total. We will not have game tickets available here at the high school. You will either have to purchase your ticket at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids or purchase your ticket through Ticketmaster.com. Please present a parent note or have a parent call the attendance office in addition to signing up on-line. We do need a minimum number of students to sign up in order to have a pep bus. You will be dismissed from class at 10:00am. The bus will leave Holmes at 10:05am and then go to the high school. The pep bus would leave the high school 10:15 a.m. and return to the schools right after the match.
State VB t-shirts will also be available for all Tiger fans. You will be able to order the t-shirts on-line at the Cedar Falls High School web page. (Click on “Athletics”) Shirts must be ordered and pre-payed by 12:30 p.m. on Monday, November 6th or your t-shirt will not be ordered. T-shirts are $10 for S, M, L, XL and $12 for XXL, and $13 for XXXL. Remember – we do not have school on Friday – so order your t-shirts early!!!
