Student Life Holmes Junior HighGet ready to practice your civic duty and voice your political opinions! The Holmes social studies department will be holding a mock election for the entire student body this coming Monday prior to the U.S. general election on Tuesday, November 8th. Voting will take place in your social studies classes on Monday and we'll be able to compare your results to how America votes the following day.
Our varsity volleyball team is headed to State! We will play on Tuesday, November 8 at 12:00 noon in Cedar Rapids at the US Cellular building. There will be a pep bus for 9-12 graders. The bus will leave Holmes around 10am and return to school after the match. You can sign up on the High Schools athletic page. The cost is $16 which covers your ride down and ticket into the game. Money and parent permission need to be turned into the Holmes front office by 3:15pm, Monday November 7th.
There are also state volleyball tshirts available to order on the High Schools athletic page. The cost is $10 and the deadline for ordering and paying is 3:30pm Thursday November 3rd.
There is NO board game club today because of conferences. We will see you next Thursday, November
10th!
Attention bowlers on Mondays you will take bus #9 to the high school. Then at 3:30 you will take bus #15 to Maple Lanes. You will need to get a ride home from Maple Lanes.
All students who qualified for magazine money pens, the rep will be here Tuesday morning starting at 7:15am in the cafeteria
