For anyone interested in playing Men’s Tennis during the 2018 season, there will be a meeting after school at 3:10 PM, in Room 106 on Thursday, February 15. Please be at the meeting so that Coach Suiter can give you information concerning the spring tennis schedule, practice schedule, ordering t-shirts, and answer any questions you may have about the program. Again, the Men’s Tennis meeting will be at 3:10 PM, in Room 106 on Thursday, February 15.

Girls interested in going out for golf this year: There will be a mandatory meeting on Wednesday, Feb 14th during A shift in the health room. We will be discussing apparel, getting season information, the season's schedule, and other important information. If you cannot attend, please email Mrs. Youngkent BEFORE Feb. 14th.

Join us for our annual Dance Marathon. Dance Marathon will be held this year form 1-4 on Saturday, Feb 24th in the gym. We will once again have our Dodgeball tournament. Please be checking schoology for more information. All proceeds go to the University of Iowa Children's hospital. We hope to see you there.

Are you interested in getting or need volunteer hours? There will be a Volunteer Fair on Tuesday, February 13th in the lobby during Power Hour. Come check out all the amazing volunteer opportunities.

Cheerleading tryouts for 2018-2019 will be Saturday, February 24 from 8-5pm. Those interested in trying out must attend a mandatory meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 14th at 4:00pm in the CFHS cafeteria. Questions contact Coach Doyle at tjdoyle@cfu.net.

Are you interested in getting involved in making a difference in politics but you feel overwhelmed or don’t know where to start? Join the Cedar Falls High School Democrats for their first meeting of 2018 on Friday, February 16th in the auditorium during Power Hour. Pizza will be provided, and we are honored to have two guest speakers - State Senator Jeff Danielson and State Representative Timi Brown-Powers. We hope to see you there!

Sophomore leadership will meet today, during A shift in room 144.

JUNIORS AND SOPHOMORES: Just a reminder that the school counselors will be scheduling in your ENGLISH AND SOCIAL STUDIES classes on TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY. Juniors-if you do not have an ENGLISH class OR Sophomores-if you do not have a SOCIAL STUDIES class, please see your school counselor ASAP to get scheduled in a classroom. Have your Chromebook charged up and make sure you are able to get into Career Cruising!

ATTENTION STUDENTS: If you are planning on attending this year’s State Wrestling Tournament, there will be certain procedures you will need to follow in order for your absence to be excused. This year’s State Wrestling Tournament will start on Thursday, February 15th and runs through Saturday, February 17th. If you are planning on attending the State Wrestling Tournament a PARENT NOTE or PARENT PHONE CALL must be received by the attendance office before you leave or your absence will be unexcused. (319-553- 2584) This year, 3A schools including Cedar Falls, will wrestle starting at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 15 th . If you plan on watching the Tigers wrestle on Thursday, please call or bring a note to the attendance office before 10:30 a.m. that morning. Students will be excused to leave at that time. Wrestling on Friday, February 16 th begins at 9:00 a.m. If you plan to go on Friday, please notify the attendance office before 3:00 p.m. the previous day (Thursday, February 15 th ). You will have to purchase your first round tickets at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. Tickets for all sessions are $10.00. We will offer a bus pep if we have enough interested students for the Thursday, February 15 th session. The bus would leave from Cedar Falls High School at 10:40 a.m. and return after the 3A session. Cost of riding the pep bus will be $6.00. You would still have to purchase your ticket ($10.00) at the door. Please sign up in the athletic office before noon on Wednesday, Feb 14 th . Finally, if you are interested in a State Wrestling t-shirt you can purchase one on-line either on the Cedar Falls High School webpage blog, the Athletic webpage, or on Schoology. Cost is $10. There is an additional charge for any t-shirt larger than an XL.
