The results for the Cedar Falls Youth Straw Poll are as follows.
For President Donald Trump won with 40.5% of the votes followed by Hillary Clinton with 38.2% of the votes. For Senate Chuck Grassley won 66.4% of the votes with Patty Judge following with 26.4% of the votes. For the House of Representatives Rod Blum won 59% of the votes to Monica Vernon's 41%.  Thanks to all the students who voted.

Any men interested in swimming for the Men's Swim Team need to meet in room 138, Thursday, Nov. 3rd at 3:05. Coach Brown and Coach Bohlmann will have information on the upcoming season and practice schedule.

It’s Girls State Volleyball Tournament time - and if you are planning on attending next week you need to listen to the following special announcement:

The first round state tournament game for the Tigers will be held on Tuesday, November 8th at Noon when the Tigers take on West Des Moines Dowling. Students planning on attending need to provide a parent or guardian excuse by note or phone call to the attendance office by 3:15 p.m. on Monday, November 7th.   Students riding on their own or on the pep bus would be excused from classes at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday.  Students not following this procedure will have an unexcused absence.

A pep bus will also be provided for interested students.  Students are encouraged and asked to sign up on-line on the Cedar Falls High School Athletics webpage.  Pep Bus costs will be $16.00 total which includes the bus ride and game ticket.  Please present a parent note or have a parent call the attendance office in addition to signing up on-line.  We do need a minimum number of students to sign up in order to have a pep bus.  The pep bus would leave at 10:15 p.m. and return right after the match. You must sign up by 3:15 p.m. on Monday. 

State VB t-shirts will also be available for all Tiger fans.  You will be able to order the t-shirts on-line at the Cedar Falls High School Athletics web page.   Shirts must be ordered and pre-payed by 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 3rd or your t-shirt will not be ordered.  T-shirts are $10 for S, M, L, XL and $12 for XXL, and $14 for XXXL.  Remember – we do not have school on Friday – so order your t-shirts early!!!

We will be selling advanced tickets for the state volleyball tournament.  All tickets are $10.  We will have the tickets available for sale on Thursday, November 3rd.   You may purchase them any time during regular office hours – 7:00 a.m – 4:00 p.m. on Thursday and Monday.  T-shirts and tickets will also be available during Parent/Teacher Conference on Thursday night. 

FOOD DRIVE:

Food Drive Bargain: Bring 120 ounces of peanut butter to PAY YOUR PARKING FINE. Please bring jars of peanut butter that are 18 - 24 ounces in size.

FOOD DRIVE EQUALS BAKE SALE every Friday for the rest of October! All items will be a dollar donation! Would love to see you in the Tiger's Den before School through Power Hour!

The PE department will be hosting the second annual Food Drive Dodgeball Tournament from November 7th – 11th. The tournament will take place during B shift Power Hour in the gym. You will need to form a team of 8 and submit your registration using the Food Drive Dodgeball Tournament link on the schools website. Cost to participate is 50 cans per team or $25 per team.

Reminders

Boys interested in playing sophomore basketball this season, you will have an informational meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 3:00 pm in room 272.

November bus passes are now available in the main office.

A representative from the following colleges will be here next week to speak with interested students.

Luther College - Tuesday, November 8th at 1:15
Students may sign up in counseling or through Schoology.

The deadline to register for the December 10th ACT is FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 4TH. Go to ACTstudent.org to register. If you need help, come to the Counseling office during Power Hour this week!

Softball pitchers & catchers will meet at the high school on Wednesday, November 2 at 4:30-5:45 in the gym. Bring your glove & catchers bring your mask as well.
