End User Support Specialist
 (12-month, 260 days per school year)

 

This position provides technical assistance and customer service to computer system users. Answers questions or resolves problems for customers in person, via telephone or from remote location. May provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and various educational and administrative operating systems.

Qualifications:  Associates degree. Major in computer science, programming, management information system or related field preferred. Knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems; office laptops; email systems; basic knowledge of networks and audio/video hookups; computers and electronics including circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment and computer hardware and software including applications and rudimentary programming; customer service including needs assessment, and meeting quality standards for service.  Skills required are active listening, critical thinking, complex problem solving, oral and written comprehension, ability to multi-task and be a team player.  Physical ability to lift or move 50 pounds occasionally, 25 pound frequently with occasional sitting and frequent standing/walking.  Must possess valid Iowa driver’s license and if selected become A+ certified.

Associate Principal (2 positions)
Initial building assignments anticipated to be Southdale Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, and Hansen Elementary

 

Responsibilities for this position may include the following: 

  • Work collaboratively with district administrators, building principals, and staff toward a shared vision
  • Promote a positive climate for learning
  • Perform  management responsibilities, examples include but are not limited to: developing a master schedule; supervision of students; maintaining a safe and orderly school environment; implementing discipline procedures; attending IEP meetings; creating and maintaining District, State and Federal reports; assuming primary responsibility for before and after school programs e.g. ECHOES, Summer School, Preschool, Title I administration; grant applications and administration; budget management; and representing the building on District-wide committees
  • Provide administrative and technical assistance to the principal including operational responsibility for the physical facility
  • Assist with the selection, hiring, and orientation of staff members.
  • Supervise and evaluate certified and classified staff
  • Communicate with parents and staff in a timely, professional manner
  • Assist in providing professional development opportunities to staff
  • Observe instructional practices in classrooms and provides meaningful feedback to strengthen instruction
  • Work with collaborative teams to look at student work samples/assessments, review student data, and assist with strategies and interventions
  • Understand content standards and how to use the curriculum in planning instruction and assessment
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:  Masters degree; Iowa PK-12 Principal License 

Experience:  Five years successful PK-6 teaching experience; experience with collaborative team processes; experience in a grade level or building level teacher-leader role beneficial.

Coordinator of Instructional Technology
(12-month, 260 days per school year)

 

This position provides leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the district technology curriculum; enhances the integration of technology throughout the PreK-12 curriculum; promotes the effective use of technology throughout the district, and assists with the development short and long-range plans for integration of technology into the educational program.  

Qualifications:  Bachelors degree in education or instructional technology, current Iowa Teachers or Administrative Certification, and successful teaching experience in a PreK-12 system.   A+ Certification is desired, may be required after hiring.  Candidate must possess strong knowledge based on best practices in instruction; growing knowledge of technology tools/applications and their integration into instruction; successful experience in collaborating with adult learners; and strong organizational skills in planning, organizing learning experiences and materials and meeting timelines for a variety of demands.
